Neustar acquires Verisign’s Security Services emptor contracts

Internet giant Neustar have acquired Verisign's Security Services customer contracts to expand their Digital Defense and Program solutions. With this deal, Neustar will be adding Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Protection, Managed DNS, DNS Firewall and fee-based Recursive DNS services to their product portfolio.

According to Neustar, enterprise security needs are growing along with the increasing rate of cyber attacks on a daily basis. They say that these needs can be met if internet security providers expand their set of offerings in order to cater to myriad industries.

By acquiring Verisign's Security Services customer contracts, Neustar claim that they will be extending their product line to include DDoS, Managed DNS, DNS Firewall, and Recursive DNS services. They say that by taking a buy-instead-of-build route, Neustar will be expanding their footprint in several high-growth industries, such as technology, e-Commerce and financial services.
