Trend Micro partners with NTT DOCOMO for 5G agency security

Cybersecurity provider Trend Micro have partnered with NTT DOCOMO in a bid to provide 5G security solutions to enterprises. With this partnership, Trend Micro and NTT DOCOMO will develop products specifically for network function virtualization (NFV) and cloud environments to visualise and detect cyber anomalies.

According to Trend Micro, the rise of cyber attacks has made enterprises aware of the need to protect their cloud-based workloads. They say that these discrepancies, that exist not only in on-premise environments but also in 5G networks, need to be dealt with a monitor, detect and block approach.

By partnering with NTT DOCOMO, Trend Micro claim that they will create IoT-based 5G security solutions that can be implemented across cloud and NFV environments to dynamically detect cyber risks. They say that these solutions will be implemented on Docomo 5G open cloud, a technology verification environment provided to business partners to create new solutions across the 5G environment.

Trend Micro believe that through this technical verification, they can confirm the performance level of the product's security measures in the 5G environment. They also say that by partnering with NTT Docomo, they can together measure the effectiveness of the 5G environment to maintain network security.
